Stran|gulatio̱n [zu lat. strangulare, strangulatum = erwürgen, erdrosseln] w; -, -en:
1) Abschnürung bzw. Abklemmung von Darmabschnitten durch mechanische Einwirkung (z. B. bei Brucheinklemmung). 2) Abdrosselung der Luftröhre durch Zupressen des Halses (z. B. beim Erhängen od. Erwürgen)
